Week 8: RC Car – Build & Race (Repeat Week) (8/3–8/7)
This week is a repeat of Week 1: RC Car – Build & Race and is designed for campers who were not able to attend earlier in the summer.
Campers will build a hobby-grade RC car from the ground up using the Tamiya TT-02 platform. Students assemble the chassis, drivetrain, steering, suspension, and electronics, learning how mechanical and electrical systems work together to create a fast, controllable vehicle.
Once the cars are complete, campers learn to drive with confidence and take their builds to the park for testing and racing. The final day is dedicated to visual and physical modifications, where campers customize and improve their cars before one last round of driving.
Materials Fee: $230
This fee covers the full Tamiya TT-02 RC car kit, electronics, radio components, batteries, and all build materials used during the week. Each camper builds a hobby-grade RC car from the ground up and takes it home at the end of the week, with a platform that can be repaired, upgraded, and used long after camp ends.
